Route 5: Split - Milna - Hvar - Šćedro - Korčula - Mljet - Šipan - Dubrovnik

This 7-day one-way yacht charter from Split to Dubrovnik is ABA VELA’s southbound route for guests who want to link both cities in a single charter week. Instead of sailing back toward Central Dalmatia, you keep moving south through some of the strongest highlights of the Croatian coast and finish in Dubrovnik.

Because ABA VELA’s home base is in Split, this is handled as a one-way service rather than a standard weekly turnaround. It suits guests whose travel plans fit a Split arrival and Dubrovnik departure, and who are happy to add the one-way service fee to make the route possible.

Compare this direction with the one-way yacht charter routes between Split and Dubrovnik. If you would rather start in Dubrovnik and finish at ABA VELA’s home base, read the Dubrovnik to Split one-way route. If you are still deciding between one-way and round-trip sailing, review the base setup on our Split charter guide.

Use Route 5 when you want your week to keep moving south all the way to Dubrovnik.

DAY 1 - Saturday: SPLIT - MILNA

After check-in from ABA VELA’s home base in Split, keep the first leg short and practical. Milna is a reliable first-night stop because it gives the crew an easy positioning leg without forcing a long opening sail after a late-afternoon start.

The point of day one is to leave the marina calmly, settle the yacht and prepare for the real southbound progression from Sunday onwards. Milna works because it keeps that opening rhythm safe and controlled.

DAY 2 - Sunday: MILNA - HVAR

Sunday is a classic island-hopping day and one of the route’s strongest early stops. Hvar gives you a well-known island harbour, a good mix of sailing and an evening ashore, and a natural sense that the southbound route is properly underway.

Keep the tone practical rather than nightlife-heavy. The value of Hvar here is its harbour identity and position on the route, not turning the second night into a rushed social stop.

DAY 3 - Monday: HVAR - ŠĆEDRO

Monday is the transition into the quieter southern half of the route. Šćedro works well because it gives you a calmer overnight than the busier ports and introduces more of a peaceful-bay and anchoring feel before the stronger town and nature stops farther south.

It also makes the route feel naturally progressive rather than repetitive. You are still moving south, but in a way that slows the pace before Korčula and Mljet.

DAY 4 - Tuesday: ŠĆEDRO - KORČULA

Tuesday is the major town and culture day. Korčula is one of the strongest historic stops on the whole route, and it works well as the old-town evening that resets the pace before the quieter protected-nature feel of Mljet.

It is worth arriving with enough time to walk the old town and enjoy dinner ashore. This stop gives Route 5 one of its clearest South Dalmatia identity points.

DAY 5 - Wednesday: KORČULA - MLJET

Wednesday shifts the route into a greener and quieter mode. Mljet is the nature-led stop of the week, with more protected scenery and a slower rhythm than the busier town nights earlier on the route.

This is the right moment to ease the pace again. Let Mljet be the quieter reset before the final setup through the Elafiti area towards Dubrovnik.

DAY 6 - Thursday: MLJET - ŠIPAN

Thursday is the Elafiti transition day. Šipan lets you position for Dubrovnik while still keeping one more island overnight, which makes the finish feel measured rather than rushed.

The island mood should stay easy and practical. It is the right kind of final-night setup before a bigger destination finish on Friday.

DAY 7 - Friday: ŠIPAN - DUBROVNIK

Friday is the grand-finale arrival. Finish under Dubrovnik’s walls, but keep the approach practical and calm so the last leg still works with the normal Friday return timing expected at the end of a charter week.

This is also where the one-way service matters operationally. After your charter ends in Dubrovnik, ABA VELA skipper handles the yacht transfer back to Split under the one-way arrangement, which is what makes the southbound finish possible without changing the home base.

Final practical note

Route 5 is best planned as a true point-to-point week, not as a faster version of a round-trip. The one-way service is what makes the Dubrovnik finish possible while ABA VELA continues to operate from Split.
