Croatia buoy anchorages

How much does a mooring buoy cost for your sailing boat?

A quiet bay, a line from the bow to a buoy, and a swim from the stern: buoy moorings offer a different overnight stop from a marina. This guide helps you find Croatian bays with mooring buoys and compare their published prices for your sailing yacht or catamaran.

Enter your boat's dimensions or find them by model, choose a region and move the arrival-period slider. Search by bay or island to plan your route. Prices use the linked operator's published tariff, with its original date retained; advertised rates and dated guide references are shown separately where a calculated fee is unavailable.

Start with Split and the nearby islands, or explore Istria, Kvarner, Zadar, Šibenik and Dubrovnik. If you are planning a sailing holiday, see the yachts available from Split at the end of this guide.

Find a buoy stop that fits your Croatian sailing route

Split and its islands: look around Šolta, Brač, Hvar, the Pakleni Islands, Šćedro and Vis. Restaurant moorings and independent buoy fields have different terms; check the source beside each bay rather than assuming a dinner includes your mooring.

Zadar and Šibenik: explore the outer islands, Dugi Otok, Žut, Kaprije and Žirje. Distinguish a commercial buoy fee from a park ticket and confirm seasonal operation before making a long detour.

Kvarner and the southern islands: use the bay and island search for Lošinj, Ilovik, Cres, Korčula and Lastovo. A park mooring may have its own maximum vessel length and extra visitor fees.

For a night with water, shore power or easier access ashore, compare the same boat using our Croatian marina berth-price guide.

Questions about buoy moorings in Croatia

There is no single national buoy tariff. Operators may charge per metre of overall length or use length bands, and some have seasonal rates. Choose your boat and arrival period to see the published rates we could verify. Each result links to its source and shows the source year where stated. An older or undated published rate needs reconfirmation before arrival.

Some operators explicitly include mooring for restaurant guests. Those results say “Included for restaurant guests”, with the meal bill kept separate. They are not ranked as unconditional zero-euro moorings. Other restaurants charge a separate buoy fee or publish no price. Confirm dining requirements, boat suitability and availability before tying up.

Keep the two costs separate. Kornati explicitly includes its park buoys with a valid entrance ticket; the result links to the 2026 ticket list and shows the buoy length limit. Telašćica results show its separately verified, VAT-inclusive park-entry prices for advance purchase and purchase inside the park. Lastovo publishes a separate mooring tariff and requires park admission too. An entry ticket is not relabelled as a buoy tariff.

Rules differ between operators. A marina's multihull surcharge does not automatically apply to a buoy. Catamaran prices appear only when the buoy source establishes its billing rule. Otherwise, the result asks you to contact the operator.

Some operators and booking services accept reservations; others assign buoys on arrival. A published price or directory listing does not show vacant buoys. Contact the linked operator with your overall length, beam, boat type and arrival date. Check whether a reservation charge is additional to the daily mooring fee.

Ask the operator which buoy suits your length, displacement and forecast conditions. Follow its instructions for the pickup line and any stern line. Check the gear and clearance from neighbouring boats, and keep the stern swimming area clear when manoeuvring. A sheltered bay can become exposed when the wind changes; use current charts and weather information for your route.

This research catalogue contains 158 locations, including commercial fields, restaurant buoys and park moorings. It is a researched directory, not a complete official national register. 77 locations have published price information from 38 distinct pricing sources. These include operator tariffs, reservation offers, dated guide references and conditional inclusion terms. We integrated tax-confirmed numerical rules for 24 locations. 19 more locations have explicitly conditional mooring inclusion, and 4 locations show separate verified park-entry prices. Some share one tariff. Price availability still depends on the selected length, boat type and season.

Advertised rates and guide references show the source amount and its boat, date and billing conditions. They do not change with your boat selection, are excluded from the lowest-fee ranking and are not a confirmed payable total.

Source pages checked on 12 October 2026. “Directory” identifies a third-party buoy listing; it does not establish current concession status or availability. Old kuna prices, unsupported catamaran surcharges and unverified admission-to-mooring conversions are excluded.
