Route 4: Split - Maslinica - Primošten - Skradin - Šibenik - Prvić / Zlarin - Rogoznica - Split
This 7-day yacht charter route from Split is the better northern option for crews who want more than island hopping. It combines sheltered coastal sailing, a memorable inland leg to Skradin, access to Krka National Park and a calmer rhythm than the longer southern itineraries.
Compared with our North Dalmatia & Kornati Route 3, this plan is less about outer-archipelago scenery and more about the contrast between coastline, river transit, old stone towns and protected nature. It is ideal for crews who want a quieter northern week without making Kornati the main focus.
Use our weekly yacht charter routes from Split to compare the four options from Split: the Central Dalmatia route is the best classic first-time week, the South Dalmatia route is the best longer southern week with early check-in, the North Dalmatia & Kornati route is the best northern week for Kornati and quiet outer islands, and Route 4 is the best northern week for Skradin / Krka and a sheltered coastal rhythm.
If you are matching this plan to dates and boat size, see our Split fleet of sailing yachts.

Choose this route if you want one real river-and-nature day inside a sheltered northern week from Split.
After standard Saturday check-in there is no need to force a long first leg. Maslinica works well as the first-night positioning stop because it is straightforward to reach, gives the crew a proper sunset and dinner stop, and still leaves the whole route comfortably set up for Sunday.
Keep day one simple. The point is to settle the boat, sleep well and start the northern route without turning the first evening into a rushed delivery leg.
Sunday is the day to move north and settle into the rhythm. If conditions allow, make an easy swim stop on the way so the leg feels like the start of a holiday rather than a straight transfer north.
Primošten works very well as a scenic mainland-town overnight. It gives you a good harbour evening, restaurants within easy reach and a polished stop before the route turns inland towards Skradin.
Monday is the transition into the river and park part of the route. The shift from open coast into a calmer inland approach is what makes this itinerary feel different from the more standard island loops from Split.
Use sheltered channel and river language to think about the day rather than distance. Skradin is one of the main identity stops of the whole week, so it is worth arriving with enough time to enjoy the riverfront and the calmer inland feel.
Tuesday is the nature day. Use the morning or midday for Krka National Park and leave enough time to enjoy it properly rather than treating it as a quick box to tick before moving on.
After the visit, return downstream and keep the evening leg short. Šibenik gives the route a strong old-town contrast after the park, with a more urban waterfront feel that still fits the slower northern rhythm.
After the mainland and river section, Wednesday works best as a slow island day. The leg is short, so there is room for a swim and for a calmer decision on whether Prvić or Zlarin suits the crew better that day.
Either stop gives you a quiet village atmosphere, an easy dinner and a lower-pressure overnight after Skradin and Šibenik. This is the day where the route feels intentionally quiet again.
Thursday is the easy return setup day. Rogoznica works well as the comfortable final-town night because it is practical on arrival, polished enough for a good dinner ashore and well positioned for the last leg back to Split.
The marina and promenade mood suit the end of the week. It feels organised rather than rushed, which is exactly what you want before the final return.
Keep Friday calm and practical. Depending on the weather and fuel timing, add one last swim stop on the way back. Krknjaši is an obvious choice, but do not build the return around squeezing in extra miles.
This route still fits the usual Friday return and Saturday checkout rhythm used across the fleet. Get back with enough time for fuel, final approach and handover preparation so the end of the week stays controlled.
